NBA superstar LeBron James has applied to trademark the phrase ‘Shut up and dribble!’ after Fox News star Laura Ingraham insulted him with it in 2018.
The basketball icon’s firm Uninterrupted Inc. plans to apply Ingraham’s insult on a slew of digital products, likely to be sold in the so-called ‘metaverse’ virtual world, it was revealed Tuesday.
That filing will apply to ‘downloadable virtual goods, namely, computer programs featuring footwear, clothing, headwear, eyewear, bags, sports bags, backpacks, sports equipment, art, toys and accessories for use online and in online virtual worlds.’

The feud began in 2018 after James criticized former President Donald Trump’s administration, saying Trump ‘the number-one job in America, the appointed person is someone who doesn’t understand the people. And really don’t give a f*** about the people.
James also famously called Trump a ‘bum’ on Twitter after Trump rescinded Steph Curry and the Golden State Warrior’s invitation to the White House after their championship win.
Ingraham, a well known supporter of Trump, said James’ comments were ‘barely intelligible’ at the time and told him to stop the ‘political commentary,’
She further lamented that James was someone ‘who gets paid $100 million dollars a year to bounce a ball,’ and told him to ‘shut up and dribble.’

James shot back on Twitter and said he’s ‘simply F-N tired of this treatment right here’ and claimed comments like Ingraham’s were ‘why the protesting is going on.’
James also spoke to the Associated Press after hearing Ingraham’s rant and said ‘I will not just shut up and dribble,’ vowing to continue using his platform to ‘talk about what’s really important.’
‘I will definitely not do that,’ James said of Ingraham’s demand. ‘I mean too much to society. I mean too much to the youth. I mean too much to so many kids that feel like they don’t have a way out and they need someone to help lead them out of the situation they’re in.’
