Tyson Fury has told British boxing fans that a massive national showdown between himself and Anthony Joshua could still happen in the future.
Back in 2021, the pair were on the verge of finalising a deal to meet in an enormous undisputed title fight which would have unified all four belts in the heavyweight division to crown a sole champion.

However, Deontay Wilder won his arbitration case which forced Fury into a third fight with him, meaning that AJ then had to defend against his mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk of course dethroned AJ and then beat him again in their rematch last month to claim full ownership of the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.
Meanwhile WBC champion Fury defended his crown by successfully KOing Wilder again and then doing the same to his mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.
Now, all the talk around him is about a potential undisputed fight against Usyk, but when asked about AJ, the Gypsy King claimed this bout remains a possibility.
Fury told BT Sport: “I still think, even though he’s lost three of his last five fights, I still think people would like to see that fight.
“So if Oleksandr Usyk can’t be ready and doesn’t want the fight for whatever reason – a middleweight against a giant behemoth heavyweight, I could understand why he doesn’t want it.
If that fight doesn’t happen, then we’ll go and offer AJ the fight.”

Usyk initially called for the undisputed fight with Fury after his rematch win over Joshua.
He has since stated that the recurrence of old injuries suffered against AJ, combined with his desire to spend some time with his family, rule him out of a return this year.
As a result, Fury has declared that he intends to return to the ring against somebody else before then facing Usyk when he’s ready in 2023.
