Novak Djokovic’s 2022 was conditioned by his choice not to get vaccinated against the Coronavirus. The Serbian had to skip the Australian Open and the US Open, two tournaments in which he would be the main favorite for the win.
In addition to suffering serious damage to his image, Nole saw his eternal rival Rafael Nadal flee in the all-time Grand Slam standings. The 35-year-old from Belgrade lifted his season by triumphing at Wimbledon for the seventh time in his career, the fourth in a row.

The former world number 1 has thus equaled his idol Pete Sampras and shortened the gap that separates him from Nadal. The ‘Djoker’ won the ATPs in Tel Aviv and Astana, detaching the pass for the ATP Finals in Turin.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion has reached 90 career titles, 13 fewer than Roger Federer (it would take 20 to overtake Connors). During an interview with ‘Jutarnji list’, Goran Ivanisevic analyzed Djokovic’s prospects in detail.

And Novak Djokovic’s coach has now shared his belief that the world No 7 could break the record for most titles, though confessed that it would depend on how long the Serb would continue playing, given his recent struggles to compete in America and Australia.

While the former world No 1 questioned how much his charge would play, he had no doubt in Djokovic’s ability to stay fit. Hailing Djokovic for the way he comes in with confidence no matter how long he has been away from the sport, Mischa Zverev is of the opinion that the World No. 7 could get even better with age, hinting at a very long career ahead of him.

Novak comes back, wins two tournaments – and that’s it,” Mischa Zverev said. “Obviously he wasn’t injured and he’s only had one break, but he comes on with a lot of confidence and plays his thing down. I’m sure he’ll get even better. It’s very impressive, especially at 35.”
