In 2015-16, Curry was averaging 30.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists on 50% from the field and 45% from the three-point line.
This season, he’s putting up 32.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists on 52% from the field and 44% from the three-point line.
So, why isn’t Curry being spoken of as an MVP contender this year?

The reason that more people aren’t discussing Curry as a possible MVP winner is that the field for that trophy is crowded.
Right now, most people agree that Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks are the two biggest frontrunners for MVP.
There is no doubt that both of those players are on fire recently and are playing the best basketball of their careers.
But Curry might be able to sneak into the conversation, especially if he keeps playing like this.
If Curry is still putting up these types of numbers in April then he will surely be competing for the prize.
