The incident allegedly took place after an altercation between Morant and Chris Duarte on January 29, when Memphis beat the Pacers 112-100.

According to The Athletic, Morant and two other people were spotted in an SUV when a red laser was pointed at the Indiana bus.
“NBA Security and league investigators conducted an investigation interviewing numerous eyewitnesses and reviewing video surveillance following allegations made by the Indiana Pacers organization regarding a postgame incident on Janiary 29,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass told The Athletic.
“While we substantiated that a post-game situation arose that was confrontational, based on interviews and other evidence gathered, we could not corroborate that any individual threatened others with a weapon.”

Morant had an altercation with Duarte in the third period of the game against Indiana, while Morant’s father and his friend Davonte Pack also had an argument with Pacers players.

Morant got into a car with his entourage after the game and Pacers coaching staff members claimed that it was at that point when a red laser was pointed at them.
According to The Athletic, the Pacers staff were scared because they were convinced that it was a rifle.
The Pacers informed the NBA, who opened an investigation and identified some people responsible for the altercation, but did not verify whether there were gun threats.
