She has also struggled to nail down her coaching situation but feels that things are starting to come together for her.
Emma Raducanu hopes to put injury-plagued 2022 behind her…
“I can’t quite believe we’re at that stage again – the last 12 months have gone so fast,” Raducanu said in an interview with SheerLuxe.
“My biggest goal in 2023 is to be more injury free. I just want to stay healthier for longer.
“This year, the demands of the tour, going from having no training or stamina to being thrown into competing at the top level, my body has struggled.”
One of the things that Raducanu has had to adapt to being in the public eye, is reading things in the media about herself that are plainly false.
She says that there is a lot of fake news reporting around her career and lifestyle and she often finds it intensely difficult to bear.
Raducanu does attract far more attention than the average player her age , and at this stage still finds it tricky to handle.
Her support structures have been tested to the limit, but Raducanu is grateful to have people she can rely on.
“I’ve faced quite a bit of adversity and I’ve had to keep getting back up a lot.
“So much stuff is said about me that isn’t true, but I try not to let it affect me.
“The past year has meant getting used to that side of things – the publicity and hearing all these things I never even knew about myself! The attention on the tour is so intense.”
Considering it has been just her second year on the tour Raducanu can be reasonably pleased with her 2022 season and can look forward to a 2023 of more progress.
Raducanu recently teamed up with former trainer to Andy Murray, Jez Green, in a bid to develop her resilience as she prepared for another tough season.

Her most encouraging performance of last season came quite late in Korea. However, even that run was overshadowed by injury concerns.
Raducanu has shown glimpses of the game that saw her power through the field to win the 2021 US Open but still needs to prove that she can perform consistently.
Even as her ranking has dipped, the media attention on Raducanu has not faded, and as long as she is playing at the elite level it will remain this way.
