Andy Murray has spoken about his chances at the Grand Slams in 2023, and has suggested that Wimbledon is his best opportunity for a potential ‘deep run’.
Murray has had a dramatic start to the season, winning three matches from match points down and played his longest ever match at the Australian Open, lasting almost six hours.

The No.52 reached the final of Doha last week, but he still feels the Championships represent his best chances of a making a real splash this year.
“My feeling on Wimbledon is that less players play well on grass,” he said. “More of the guys are comfortable on the hard courts and that probably increases my chances.
“I’m not saying I would expect to win the French Open if I played, but with Wimbledon there is certainly a better opportunity to have a deep run.”

“But I also really like the way that I’ve trained in practice these last four months and I’ve not been doing that with Wimbledon in mind. I’m trying to just focus on each day and trying to get the most out of it.
If I do that and accumulate enough of those days, then I believe that come Wimbledon my game will be in a really, really good place.”
Murray had a much better performance in the Middle East this year, compared to 2022 where he described his 6-0 6-1 defeat to Roberto Bautista Agut as one of the ‘worst’ matches of his career.
