Raducanu is currently gearing up for the clay-court season following an opening-round defeat at the Miami Open. The 20-year-old will be back in action at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in two weeks’ time but for now, she has traded in tennis for racing.
The world No 68 took to Instagram to share a series of photos from a race track, while also throwing in a throwback picture of herself donning a suit and helmet as a child. “Reviving the cooler Emma in a different type of workout,” she wrote, joking about her new training method ahead of the clay.

Raducanu posed in a racing suit while also sporting a Porsche helmet – one of her sponsors – and shared a photo of a camera screen, hinting that she was filming something special. The former world No 10 has shared her love for F1 in the past and took up both go-karting and motocross alongside tennis as a child.
She can also count Lewis Hamilton as one of her mentors, after revealing that he had given her some advice following her historic victory at the 2021 US Open. “He’s been such a good role model for me in terms of helping me out and through these next stages. He’s a really cool person,” Raducanu said during a ‘homecoming’ at the Royal Albert Hall weeks after her US Open win.
The British No 1 also had a run-in with her role model during the Met Gala a couple of months earlier, and later told the BBC: “At the Met Gala I spoke to Lewis Hamilton, which was really cool being such a fan of motorsport and Formula One. It was really nice to see him and speak to him there.”
