Emma Raducanu will have a chance to prove herself next week as the Brit will start her clay season in Stuttgart. The world No 68 received a wildcard into the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix with the car manufacturer being one of her sponsors. It comes as the British No 1 was snubbed for Harriet Dart in the vote for LTA Player of the Year, and she will be hoping to hit back at doubters with a strong showing.

Raducanu will be starting her clay season at next week’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix after being announced as one of the wildcard entrants earlier this year. The 20-year-old’s ranking wouldn’t have been high enough to allow her to gain direct entry into the main draw of the WTA 500 event.

But the Brit has benefitted from her Porsche sponsorship, as they are also the title sponsor of the Stuttgart event, leading to Raducanu receiving a wildcard. The former world No 10 has already proven herself on the indoor clay courts, reaching the quarter-final last year before losing to eventual champion Iga Swiatek.
And Raducanu will be bidding to bite back with another impressive run in Stuttgart after being snubbed in the 2022 LTA Player of the Year vote. World No 117 Dart won the award which was voted for by LTA members and coaches.
