It has been nearly a month since NASCAR’s penalties saga has been going on. One of NASCAR’s many victims is the Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin. Though if we’re being honest, Hamlin may have brought it upon himself with his confession. That was after he collided with rival Ross Chastain, and appeared to confess that it was a deliberate act. Now, his former teammate Kyle Busch has weighed in on the issue, after Hamlin’s appeal was rejected.
During a press conference in Bristol on Sunday, Busch mentioned, “I’m actually kind of surprised on the whole Denny deal. I feel like a lot of that is … he did a really really good job of explaining it. I listened to his podcast of this week and I’ve been through some of those appeals before.

“You think you’ve done a good job of selling your case and they actually kind of back down on the other side. So you think you’ve got a really good shot of getting something reversed or overturned. And then it just completely sideswipes you that it doesn’t happen that way.
“I have no clue how that is a penalty, when in the rulebook if you basically get into somebody or wreck somebody, then it can be a penalty of any sort they want to enforce on you or infringe on you.”
