mphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant has got a new injury which has caused serious concern among the fanbase. He injured his right hand during the 2023 NBA Playoffs loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday and revealed that his status for Game 2 is “in jeopardy”.
The injury occurred midway through the fourth period when he tried to do a dunk over Anthony Davis.

Officials called an offensive foul on Morant, who grimaced in pain and ran to the locker room. He returned to the bench moments later, but missed the final stretch of the game.
The 23-year-old spoke to reporters after the loss and explained that he couldn’t even undo a pair of socks with his right hand, saying that “it seems like it’s one thing after another.”
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Morant’s X-rays were negative, ruling out a fracture, but he was in a fair amount of pain.
Grizzlies playing well without Ja Morant
Last season, the Grizzlies had a 20-5 record without Morant, and went 10-8 without him this year.

Although Memphis fell apart after Morant left the game Sunday, the Lakers will still have to excel in Wednesday’s Game 2, because there are still plenty of threats.
Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. finished the game with a game-high 31 points, and Desmond Bane added 22. Morant had 18 points before the injury.
Jenkins, 38, also said Morant will undergo further evaluation before his status for the rest of the first-round series becomes clear.
